This is a piece I put together for the SyAS Medieval Studies Forum Newsletter, only unknowingly missed the copy deadline which means it is in limbo until November. So as not to keep it entirely hidden from view until the winter, and because it is a request for assistance with an interesting and I believe largely overlooked phenomenon, I thought it wise to upload it here for public consumption (and hopefully a little reaction).

I will say no more about it because (a) it is pretty self-explanatory (b) I have two other things to upload tonight and (c) by the time you read this I will have written a post on the homepage that lets on a little more about it.
