Update – Thames Ditton bounds

I came across the following by chance a few months back. I like the way how (in all likelihood unintentionally) it evokes the boundary description written more than a millennium earlier.

The suburban context may be nothing out of the ordinary today, but it would have been unheard of in the Anglo-Saxon period (although there are a number of boundary descriptions of urban tenements in towns like Winchester). I am interested to see if I can find any contemporary descriptions of rural parish boundaries – plus ça change after all…
